Nepalis stage demo against Indian blockade in Washington

WASHINGTON DC, Nov 23: In a bid to draw the attention of the world community over Indian blockade against Nepal, Nepalis have staged a massive demonstration outside the White House on Monday. With the joint effort of the various Nepali organizations, the demonstration was organized expressing its solidarity with the protest.



Thousands of Nepali origin people residing in USA participated in the demonstration demanding lifting the Indian blockade over Nepal immediately. Nepalis living in more than 12 states across the USA had poured into the demonstration in the Washington DC with Nepal flags and placards in their hands. The demonstrators had also rallied round the White House with chanting national song. On the occasion, the demonstrators had also submitted a memorandum to US President Barak Obama and Foreign Secretary John Kerry. They also submitted the memorandum at Washington-based Indian Embassy.
