Leading website DNA reported that the actress Sona Heiden came up with the idea of Rice Bowl Challenge. Although the ALS ice bucket was not much about the donation, this one looks like a potentially positive step taken by the actress.
The actress has asked support from her friends and people she knows to come forward and help her with the Rice Bowl Challenge. After spreading the message about the same, she went around asking people to donate the staple food product rice for the thousands people affected by the rains.She hoped to collect 100 kg of rice by end of the Rice Bowl Challenge, but she has already collected some 900 kg by the end of the first day on November 28. She expects to serve each family 5 kg of rice. Motivated by the positive response from people, Sona now plans to collect more rice to help out more people.
Sona looks forward to some help from actor Vishal Krishna, who has a lot of influence down south and has been involved in such volunteer work. Not only the actor helped but also his fan club came forward to help in the relief work for those affected by the rains
