Nepali Congress and agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) is scheduled to take place at PM’s official residence Baluwatar on Monday.The meeting was called by Prime Minister KP Oli in a bid to address the demands of the Madhesi parties and end the current political deadlock.
As per the repeated requests by the UDMF leaders, the top three parties – Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist) – are expected to present in the meeting a common view to address UDMF demands. UDMF has already submitted its 11-points demand to the government.
The agitating alliance has stressed a review of the federal demarcation, delineation of electoral constituencies on the basis of population, proportional representation and demands on citizenship as its bottom line demands.
Meanwhile, top leaders of the UDMF including Upendra Yadav, Rajendra Mahato and Rameshor Raya Yadav are expected to remain absent in the meeting due to a pre-scheduled meeting of Madhesi leaders in Biratnagar at the same time.
