Talks between the government and the agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) ended inconclusively on Friday. The meeting held at Singha Durbar was inconclusive after the SLMM urged only to take forward the Bill on formation of Reconstruction Authority. Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party leader Ram Naresh Raya said the SLMM requested the government to take forward the Reconstruction Authority Bill for the time being. The SLMM asked the government side to hold talks in a package in order to amend the constitution. “They [government side] put forth a proposal to take forward the two points simultaneously. But we disagreed on that,” said Raya.He said the Morcha would only agree if there is a guarantee to amend the constitution so as to address the 110-day long agitation in Madhes. The main opposition Nepali Congress did not show up at the meeting.Meanwhile, the government also held talks with Sanghiya Samabesi Madhesi alliance. The discussion was positive and the next round of talks will be held on December 15, said Prime Minister KP Oli in his tweet.
