Rajendra Mahato was born 19 November 1958, he is a Nepali politician and the President of the Nepal Sadbhavana Party. He is one of the highest-ranked member of the Terai-Madhesh based parties alliance. Mahato was born in Sarlahi of Nepal, as the first children of Khobhari Mahato. He holds degree of Master in law. He earlier held Indian citizenship, and became a Nepalese citizen by naturalization around 35 years ago. He started his political career from 1990. In the 1994 parliamentary election, he stood as the Nepal Sadbhavana Party candidate in the constituency Sarlahi-2. He came second with 10173 votes. In the 1999 parliamentary election he won the seat with 14750 votes, defeating former Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party. Madhesi people caused blockade, India being maligned by anti national forces, says Nepal’s leader.
Kathmandu, Oct 06 (ANI): The President of Nepal Sadbhavana Party, Rajendra Mahato said on Tuesday that some anti-Indian forces are blaming India for the blockade at Indo-Nepal border as it has been done by the people of Madhesi community. Mahato said that India has no role in the blockade and such rumors should not be spread. He also added that his party is in favor of going ahead with talks on the matter.
